by Sandasen Marasinghe The Trial-at-Bar hearing the Udatalawinna Massacre yesterday put off the case for January 15 when President's Counsel Wijedasa Rajapakse filed a motion to be granted further time to study the case since he was appearing for the first time for the first accused former Minister Anuruddha Ratwatte. The Trial-at-Bar comprises High Court Judge Eric Basnayake (President), High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara and High Court Judge Sunil Rajapakse. Deputy Solicitor General Palitha Fernando said he regretted the move to file such a motion at a stage after the case was taken for hearing after nearly two months. Deputy Solicitor General Palitha Fernando, State Counsel Shanil Kularatne and State Counsel Ayesh Ariyasinghe appeared for the Attorney General while Wijedasa Rajapakse, PC, Tirantha Walaliyadda, PC and Anil Silva appeared for the Defence. |
