ComBank ties up with National University of Singapore The Commercial Bank of Ceylon recently entered into a historic partnership with the National University of Singapore (NUS). A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two institutions facilitates the organisation of NUS training programs at an affordable cost in Sri Lanka and in Singapore. The key areas of training on offer will include Executive Development Programs covering General Management, Managerial Marketing, Human Resources Management, Strategic Management and modular programs on subjects such as Financial and Business Analysis and Corporate Governance. "All training programs have been developed to broaden the managerial perspective and vision of senior managers enabling them to steer companies to greater heights of success. Under this partnership, arrangements would also be made to take groups of Sri Lankan managers to NUS programs in Singapore to provide them with training in an international learning environment," the Managing Director of Commercial Bank Amitha Gooneratne said. The Commercial Bank has launched several other initiatives in the sphere of Human Resources Management, including tie ups with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Bangkok to provide managerial training programs in Bangkok and Colombo and with the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) to bring another channel of Banking Education based on the Distance Education concept to Sri Lanka. |
