Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu power supply to be upgraded

The Ministry of Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation has arranged to send a 500 KVA generator to Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu immediately to effectively implement relief efforts.

The President has directed the Ministry to dispatch the generator to Mullaitivu, donated by a private sector company to the Government, states a press release.

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has been tasked with the transport and installation and also the maintenance of this new generator on the Ministry's request the CEB will also install another 1MW generator in Kilinochchi.

The Defence Ministry has granted approval to transport these two generators into the uncleared areas on a Presidential directive.
