Kelaniya Duruthu Perahera

The annual Duruthu Perahera of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya will be held today within the Udamaluwa premises.

The Chief Incumbent of Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya Ven. Dr. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangarakkhitha Thera will hand over the casket of relics to the Chief Bansnayake Nilame of Kelani Viharaya Shalitha Wijesundera. The Udamaluwe Preahara will commence traditionally at 9.00 p.m.

Basnayake Nilames Wijesundara and Dhammika Attyagalle will carry the casket of relics three times around the udamaluwa premises.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will also participate.
