The Buddha Sasana Ministry on a directive of the Minister of Buddha Sasana Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka has arranged to hold a series of Pahan Poojas, Dhamma Sermons and Bodhi Poojas at Buddhist Temples throughout the island on January 26 to invoke merit on all those who died due to tsunami disaster.

Secretary to the Ministry of Buddha Sasana D.W. Abeywickrama said that the respective Sasana Arakshaka Mandalayas will organise these pinkamas at Temples under their purview.

The main Pinkama will be held in Colombo at 6 p.m. on January 26 at Sambuddhaloka Viharaya, under the patronage of Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka.

The Ministry appeals to all people to flock to Temples and participate in Pinkamas to invoke merit on their departed brethren displaying their feeling for humanity in the same manner in which all sections united to assist to provide relief to those who were affected by the disaster.
