No connection with the tidal wave disaster

The Editor-in-Chief, Daily News

Please be good enough to withdraw the news item titled 'Uncle seeks niece aged four lost in the tsunami, offer over 100,000 cash award" published in the front page of the DN of 12th January 2005 which makes a reference to vehicle bearing registration No. 64-6847, as I am the sole registered owner of the said vehicle.

The vehicle has no connection what-so-ever to any incident with the tidal wave disaster as mentioned in the said news item.

I am the registered owner of the said vehicle and I am surprised that a reputed newspaper like the Ceylon Daily News was used by an unidentified nefarious source for a hitherto unknown ulterior purpose.
