Process to ensure grade one admissions properly The Ministry of Education has initiated process to ensure that grade one admissions to National Schools have been done properly according to regulations. The Ministry conducted random checks in certain popular schools to ascertain the numbers registered for grade one when Grade one children were admitted on January 27, the Education Ministry said in a release. Principals were instructed not to admit children over and above the number admitted up to date. Log entries were made in schools to this effect and the Ministry is now examining the appeals and those in the waiting list to assess eligibility to fill in certain vacancies. Meanwhile, on the President's instructions, the Presidential Investigation Unit is investigating several National Schools admission process this year. The President has directed the Ministry to ensure that proven cases of fraud and corruption be dealt without delay. |
