According to a preliminary assessment submitted to the Chamber of Construction Industry by the Chairman State Engineering Corporation Gratien Peiris there is an immediate need of twenty-one types of machinery worth Rs. 6,500 million to meet the clearing and construction demand in areas affected by the tsunami.
