International consultancy firm offers free assistance

Finance Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama said yesterday that McKinsey & Company, an international consultancy firm has offered its free assistance in the reconstruction process. He said the involvement of this international firm would not only facilitate the government but also ensure the transparency of the reconstruction process.

"The donor countries and agencies are very keen on how their funds are been utilised in the post-tsunami reconstruction process. The Government will take every measure to ensure that these funds are properly utilsed. Therefore, the Government does not have anything to hide from the people in Sri Lanka and the international community," the Minister said.
