Protecting their well-being

Tsunami-hit women and children

President Sinhala Kanthabhivurdi Sangvidanaya, former Vice President, International Alliance of Women, and Civil and Political Rights Commission (I.A.W.) former Chairperson, National Committee on Women.

The objective of this article is to draw attention to the predicament of the tsunami survivors especially women and children and other traumatised persons. Sri Lanka is signatory to several international conventions and treaties on human rights, women's rights, rights of the child etc.
