Waves of love

The beach offers an ideal environment for romance: rolling waves, swaying palms and a soothing breeze. But lovers deserted the beaches en masse after the December 26 tsunami turned a placid sea into a raging monster. Now, the sea is ready to welcome lovers and others who wish to spend a quiet, contemplative moment accompanied only by the sound of gentle waves breaking on the shore. International community commends Sri Lanka for brave commitment to rebuild nation

Several foreign leaders have commended Sri Lanka for the manner in which it successfully faced the tsunami disaster and made arrangements to overcome the damage caused by the catastrophe compared to other countries which faced it, President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has stated.
