SSC open squash from Feb. 12 The SSC Open Squash Tournament 2005 will be held from Saturday 12 - 19 February 2005 at the SSC Squash courts. This tournament is sponsored by the Sinhalese Sport Club and conducted by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation as a ranking tournament. It is expected that all leading squash players in the country to participate in this tournament. This tournament was initially held in 1999 to commemorate the Centenary Year of the SSC and followed in 2000, but was not held in 2001 and 2002 due to the repairs to the courts. The 3rd SSC open squash tournament was conducted in 2003 following the complete renovation of the Courts to international standards. The courts have been further improved this year with additional lighting, overhead fans for the balcony and a players' changing room. A special feature of the tournament this year will be the inclusion of age group events only for SSC members. |
