Basis for new era of economic cooperation in SAARC region by Chandani Jayatilleke Sri Lanka is expected to play a major role in spearheading regional
economic integration following its Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with India
and Pakistan. Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Ishtiaq
H. Andrabi said that the Pakistan/Sri Lanka FTA which came into effect
early this month will open a new era of economic cooperation not only
between the two countries but also among the seven SAARC countries where
