Emirates unveils special Europe fares in Colombo Travel to Europe from Sri Lanka has become more affordable as a result of new special fares announced in Colombo by Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline. Under these fares, applicable for travel from Colombo before March 31, 2005, a four-month Economy Class return to any European destination served by Emirates including London, costs just Rs 58,000, excluding taxes. The destinations covered by this single fare are London (Heathrow and Gatwick), Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow in the UK, and in continental Europe: Frankfurt, D?sseldorf, Munich, Milan, Paris, Rome, Nice, Zurich, Vienna, Athens, Casablanca, Istanbul, Malta and Moscow. Travellers purchasing tickets seven days or more before the travel date will be entitled to an even lower price of Rs 52,000, a further discount of more than 10 per cent. "This special offer is for a limited period only, and is meant to give more Sri Lankans an opportunity to enjoy the Emirates experience and see Europe at the same time," said Emirates' Sales Manager Colombo, Devika Ellepola. All passengers who fly to Europe on these special fares will be entitled to earn Skywards Miles, which can then be redeemed for further travel free. The convenience of the connections at Dubai International Airport is one of the reasons that Emirates is fast becoming a preferred carrier for Sri Lankan travellers visiting Europe. Emirates operates 18 services a week from Colombo to Dubai, providing convenient connections to more than 18 points in Europe. |
