Government, JAAF sign MOU: Rs.50 m for apparel sector image building
THE Government has allocated Rs. 50 million for an international image building program targeting to enhance value of Sri Lankan apparels which would enable the industry to successfully withstand the quota free era. The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Investment Promotion and the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) signed a MoU yesterday in this regard. EFFECTIVE measures to ensure enforcement of anti-piracy laws are vital to counter the growing threat of music piracy which is a major obstacle in promoting the local music industry, the Regional Coordinator of the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Willem van Adrichem said.
