THE strike launched by the employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Petroleum Corporation yesterday was called off shortly after it began following a discussion the employee representatives had with the JVP leadership, Finance Minister Dr.Sarath Amunugama and Ministry Secretary Dr. P. B. Jayasundera. Services were back on track by evening.

Walters Bay, the North American arm of Bogawantalawa tea plantations bagged the covetous first place in the most watched event of the largest Tea show- the best commercially brewed black iced tea contest at the World Tea Expo held at the Las Vegas Hilton, last week. The Expo was held at the hotel in the capital city of Las Vegas in Nevada.
