THE UPFA Government has laid a solid foundation to take the country forward by protecting workers' rights, developing the country and creating a society where all ethnic groups can live without fear, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse said yesterday, addressing the People's Alliance May Day rally. Singapore investor delegation to visit Lanka


A team of Singaporean investors and members of the Singapore Association for Small and Medium Enterprise would be visiting Sri Lanka next month to explore the possibility of investing in Sri Lanka. According to Minister of Advanced Technology and Enterprise Development Rohitha Bogollagama who was in Singapore last week the Singaporeans are keen on power generation, tourism, advanced technology and the SME sectors.

South Africa declare at 588/6 after record stand


SOUTH AFRICA added 63 further runs in 18 overs on the third morning of the fourth and final Test in Antigua, before declaring on an imposing 588 for 6. After their stately progress on the first two days, there was a more frenetic feel to South Africa's batting today, and both Jacques Kallis and Ashwell Prince fell in pursuit of quick runs, leaving Mark Boucher and Shaun Pollock to add a further 25 runs to the total.
