Boost for rubber sector

The Government is encouraging the increase of productivity in the rubber sector by increasing the new planting and re-planting subsidy by more than 100 per cent, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse said yesterday.

Emirates considers IPO

Emirates Airline is considering a public flotation on the Dubai Financial Market, in a bid to raise cash to fund its ongoing expansion strategy. Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum Ahmed said proposals for an initial public offering had already been submitted to the Dubai government, which owns the airline.
