Failure to start power projects led to present crisis - Power and Energy Minister

FAILURE to commence mega power generating projects at the appropriate time has led to the present crisis in the power sector, Power and Energy Minister Susil Premajayantha told Parliament yesterday. Replying an oral question raised by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake, Minister Premajayantha said the present power crisis is due to the failure to commence mega hydro and coal power plants at the scheduled time-frame.
