LTTE truck knocks down teenager

A 14-year-old school boy died after he was knocked down by an LTTE truck. This was revealed at the inquest on Jayathungam of Mallavi, Kilinochchi. The boy died at the Colombo National Hospital on Wednesday.

The victim's relative Thangawelu Wijaya Kumar, 31, in evidence before City Coroner Edward Ahangama said, Jayathungam met with the accident while travelling on his bicycle from Mallavi to Mallavi Pulliyar Kovil around 4.30 pm on April 29.

The truck was travelling to Kilinochchi. City Coroner M. Ashrof Rumy put off the inquest for June 2. Dr. S. Ganesh held the post-mortem.
