New educational design program in IT
The University of Moratuwa's IT Faculty working with The
Competitiveness Program is starting a program in July this year that
will put non-techie graduates on the fast track to jobs in Information
Technology.
The Rapid Information Technology Conversion program will give
non-techie graduates four months of intensive training in computer
programming, web designing, networking and business skills. At the end
of the class and lab training, qualifying students will be placed in
internships with leading Information Technology firms.
Dr. Ajith Madurapperuma, Dean of the Faculty of Information
Technology, described the program as "a really innovative program. It is
for people that want to give their career a big boost by entering a
well-paid profession that will continue to have good employment
opportunities many years into the future."
Program Specialist of The Competitiveness Program T.I. Jamaldeen
said, "Graduates should apply immediately because there are about 15
full and partial; scholarships including for those graduates affected by
the recent tsunami. This is the fastest and most economical way that I
know of for people to boost their earnings potential from 10% to 100%.
Students have to come ready to work hard, but the jobs are at the end of
the tunnel. |
