Massive development projects for Moneragala, Badulla
THE HealthCare, Nutrition and Uva-wellassa Development Minister Nimal
Siripala de Silva has given priority to develop the two electorates of 'Viyaluwa'
and 'Mahiyangana' under the "Pubudamu Wellassa Development Program".
A sum of Rs. 500 million has been allocated to a carry out a large
number of development projects in the two Districts of Moneragala and
Badulla.
Accordingly, the development of infrastructure facilities in the
Mahiyangana and Viyaluwa will be inaugurated on June 25 and 26 at a cost
of Rs.100 million.
The development projects include Meegahakivula drinking water project
costing Rs. 16.8 million, Araawa child and maternity Care Centre costing
Rs. 1.5 million, Pre-historic settlers' Museum at Dambana costing Rs.
5.3 million intended to preserve the cultural identity of early settlers
of Dambana forests and many other infrastructure facility projects such
as highways, power and energy, etc. |
