1,000 pioneers projects

THE Education Ministry Information Communication and Technology Division will set up 1,000 pioneer projects to make use of Information Communication Technology to facilitate educational activities from next year.

The pioneer project will include 700 National and Navodya Schools and 300 other selected schools where junior and senior students beginning Grade 1 will be oriented to receive eduction with the help of information communication technology, Education Ministry IT Consultant Dilantha Vithanage said.

Special attention will be paid to introduce educational packages to teach science and mathematics. Information technology will be used in the compact discs and computers for the benefit of primary education, Vithanage said.
