Heads to roll

SRI LANKA Cricket's interim committee has decided not to renew the contracts of media manager Ray Illangakoon and manager umpiring Sudath Pasqual. Illangakoon has been asked to quit his post at the end of the month and Pasqual at the end of July.

Letters have also been sent to the secretary of Cricket-Aid and two peons. The Sports Minister suspended the activities of Sri Lanka Cricket in March citing financial mismanagement as reasons for his action and appointed a five-man interim committee to run cricket.

Ray ends innings

I wish to inform you that from 30th June 2005, I will be no longer at Sri Lanka Cricket which is currently managed by an Interim Committee appointed by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs.

I take this opportunity to thank you for all your support and guidance extended to me and Sri Lanka Cricket during my services. Thanking you Best

Regards Ray.
