Sports in brief
Heads to roll
SRI LANKA Cricket's interim committee has decided not to renew the
contracts of media manager Ray Illangakoon and manager umpiring Sudath
Pasqual. Illangakoon has been asked to quit his post at the end of the
month and Pasqual at the end of July.
Letters have also been sent to the secretary of Cricket-Aid and two
peons. The Sports Minister suspended the activities of Sri Lanka Cricket
in March citing financial mismanagement as reasons for his action and
appointed a five-man interim committee to run cricket.
