TNA undecided on Polls stance

THE Tamil National Alliance, the party with the majority of Parliamentary seats from the North and East still remains undecided on the role to be played at the Presidential polls this year.

TNA Jaffna district Parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran told the `Daily News' that it was too early for the TNA to decide its stance on the Presidential polls.

"The majority of the people in the North-East want an end to the agony created by the war and the tsunami.

So it is going to be a difficult task for the people in the North and East to make up their minds to get ready for the Presidential polls," Premachandran said.

He also said that the people in the North and the East have always participated in Parliamentary and Presidential polls but their political aspirations were not addressed.
