Kadir killing: Two arrested
COLOMBO, Sunday (AFP)- Two men directly involved in planning the
assassination of Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar have been
arrested, IGP Chandra Fernando said Sunday. The two men were taken into
custody here and were being interrogated, Fernando said, adding that
evidence so far suggested the involvement of the LTTE.
He said the two men had travelled to the rebel-held town of
Kilinochchi and visited a rebel military camp. They were arrested "a
couple of days ago."
Investigators have found the box in which the murder weapon was
concealed and brought into Colombo, Fernando said.
He said the investigators were yet to recover the gun that was used
in the August 12 killing of Kadirgamar. |
