Look out for new moon

The Colombo Grand Mosque has appealed to Muslims to look out for the new moon on October 4 immediately after Magrib (6.31 p.m.). If the new moon is sighted, inform the Colombo Grand Mosque on (011) 2432110, 2390783, 2434651 or 0777366099.

Colombo Grand Mosque General Secretary Nazushan Hassen in a release said Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation will announce on its Muslim service when the fasting begins and requested Muslims not to be misled by false information.

A meeting will be held under the auspices of the Colombo Grand Mosque at the Madrasathul Hameediah Hall on October 4 immediately after the Salath Ul Maghrib, (7 p.m.) to decide on the beginning of the holy month of Ramazan Hijri 1426 on the evidence of sighting the new moon in any part of Sri Lanka.
