Vote for Mahinda for peace, says SLFP organiser

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse is committed to usher in peace, said Chief SLFP organiser Kundasale and Central Provincial Councillor R.G. Samaranayake.

Speaking at a meeting for SLFP activists in Kundasale, he said the people could not be deceived by the UNP's false propaganda and Rajapakse would be swan-in as the President after the election. "Most UNP supporters in Kundasale are disgusted and disappointed over Attanayake's appointment as the party organiser for Kundasale.

Attanayake lost the Parliamentary elections at his home area Uda Dumbara where he was the organiser then. His appeals will not be heeded by the people of Kundasale who have already decided to vote for Rajapakse," Samaranayake said.

Rajapakse is committed to usher in peace so that all ethnic and religious groups could live in harmony unlike UNP Presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe who represents vested interests, he said.

The people are aware that it was the UNP which issued circulars to stop recruiting any one to the public service. It was that Government which stopped pensions for public servants, Samaranayake said.
