PM reassures commitment to peace talks, religious freedom
In a letter to His Grace Rev. Oswald Gomis,
Archbishop of Colombo, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse reiterated
yesterday his commitment to direct talks with the LTTE and devolution
within a democratic framework.

NCCSL welcomes streamlining of tax administration
Eventhough the budget was presented at a time
leading up to the Presidential election, overall it cannot be
considered as an election budget and the National Chamber of
Commerce of Sri Lanka is happy that the pre-budget consultative
process has received due attention in the formulation of the budget

Teenager Singh grabs four as India win easily

paceman Rudra Pratap Singh grabbed four wickets to set up a seven-wicket
