Fund raiser at Tamil Union

The Tamil Union has organised a fund raiser to develop the sporting activities of the club. This club which has a very rich history behind and has produced cricketing greats such as M. Sathasivam, Sathi Coomaraswamy, Vernon Prins, T. Murugaser, Chandra Schaffter and currently the world record breaking Muttiah Muralitharan.

The Colombo Oval as it was known at the time has come in for so much praise from the Great Sir Donald Bradman, Sir Gary Sobers, Clive Lloyd, Kapil Dev to name a few.

The event is full of exciting events with prizes and surprises galore. The organisers have made it a family event and created a carnival type of atmosphere with fast food, pizza, vegetarian western and eastern food varieties, drinks and ice cream stalls, beer and spirits promotions. There will also be a grand fireworks display.

The popular dance band 'Gypsies' will be entertaining the Tamil Union members and their guests at the P. Sara Stadium on Saturday November 12 from 8 p.m. onwards. Tickets have been priced at Rs. 600. A limited number of tickets are available on a first come first served basis. There will be no ticket sales at the gate.
