President tells Parliament:
Negotiations only way to peace
PRESIDENT Mahinda Rajapakse yesterday declared
that his Government would give highest priority to launch a "new
peace process" to usher in lasting peace through a political
solution to the country's national question.

Constitutional reforms will be introduced to make the President
answerable to Parliament. "Our election manifesto has proposed
abolishing the Executive Presidency and for this Constitutional
