Lankaputhra Bank commences operationsPRESIDENT Mahinda Rajapakse directed the Finance Ministry officials to speed up the formation of the Lankaputhra Bank, which would be focused on providing financial assistance to the agricultural sector. The setting up of Lanka Puthra Bank was a proposal in Mahinda Chintanaya and a sum of US $ 75 million has been allocated for the purpose.
