Government foreign debt reduces

THE government foreign debt has reduced by over Rs. one billion from Rs. 937.9 to Rs. 936.7 by the end of October 2005. According to Central Bank Economic Indicators released last week total outstanding government debt was at Rs. 2,184.8 billion until the end of October 2005.

A high-powered delegation of Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce representatives visited Sri Lanka to explore investment possibilities in Sri Lanka especially in the tea sector. Advisor to the Chamber Commerce Saudi Arabia Jaff Al-Asari with Minister of Plantation Industries Milroy Fernando at the Ministry yesterday. Saudi Arabia will also host a Sri Lankan tea exhibition in February.
