Govt categorically denies false reports

THE Government has categorically denied any Security Forces involvement in the training of Alternate Armed Groups in the East.

The Government Information Department states: Certain media reports have highlighted claims by a youth implicating the Security Forces in the training of Alternate Armed Groups in the East.

The Government categorically denies these claims as totally false and fabricated. These misleading reports are attempts to bring disrepute to the Security Forces and thereby discredit the Government especially at a time when sincere efforts are under way to commence peace talks in Geneva.
