President orders Forces to expedite investigations into alleged TRO abduction

PRESIDENT Mahinda Rajapakse has ordered the Security Forces to expedite investigations into the alleged abduction of a group of members of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation (TRO).

The Government Information Department in a release to the media said that the President wanted the Security Forces to conduct a inspection to find out whether there are boarding houses in the Welikanda area to ascertain any boarding house providing shelter to any group involved in the alleged abduction and to continue search in finding out of their whereabouts.

The media release said following the orders of the President the Security Forces have already commenced a full-scale search within the Welikanda area.
