Local bodies face the law over garbage
With the garbage problem assuming serious
proportions in the City, the Environment Ministry has decided to
take legal action against all local bodies which do not dispose
garbage properly.

Regazzoni will have talks with the LTTE's political wing leader S.P.
Thamilselvan in Kilinochchi today over the place of accommodation
and other travel related issues with regard to the forthcoming talks
between the Government and the LTTE in Geneva on February 22 and 23.

Rs. 1,000 CoL for public servants
The Government has made arrangements to pay a
cost of living allowance of Rs. 1,000 per month to all public
servants from January 1 this year.
