The Government delegation for the truce talks, led by Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva left for Geneva early yesterday from the Bandaranaike International Airport. Housing and Construction Minister Ferial Ashraff and Economic Advisor to the President Ajith Nivad Cabraal accompanied him.

President hopeful talks would end conflict

President Mahinda Rajapakse yesterday expressed the hope that the ceasefire talks commencing on Wednesday in Geneva would see a successful end to the prolonged conflict in the country without it being passed on to the next generation.
