'100 day countdown' to support arms campaign control
COLOMBO: South Asia Small Arms Network Sri Lanka launched a '100 Day
countdown' yesterday in support of worldwide initiative to control the
Arms campaign.
Launching the campaign yesterday, Chairman, South Asia Small Arms
network-Sri Lanka Kingsley Rodrigo said: "The objective of the 100-day
countdown is to Minister public support for the million Faces Photo
Petition.
It is also to Mobilise Parliamentarians, deliver national photo
petitions, organise events to create awareness about the menace of
illegal weapons and the campaign itself."
According to Rodrigo, during the 100-Day countdown, the campaign
activities will be accelerated in the run upto the UN review conference
on Small Arms beginning June 26, in New York. |
