LEGENDARY FILM MAKER
The first complete biography of world renowned film maker Dr. Lester James Peries was launched on Saturday at the BMICH amidst a distinguished gathering of local cinema personalities, politicians and artistes. Lester James Peries -Life and Work was authored by the late Professor A. J. Gunawardene and published by the Asian Film Centre Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka poised to maintain 6 pc growth rate -Ronnie

SRI LANKA will be able to maintain a 6 percent economic growth by the end of this year, says Presient's Senior Economic Advisor Ronnie De Mel. In an interview with the 'Daily News' he said that Sri Lanka could expect even a higher rate by the end of the year if there are no major negative impacts from the world economy and the peace holds.
