No plans for National Government - Yapa
Cabinet Spokesman Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa
yesterday declared that the Government had no intention whatsoever to
form a National Government as the Government is closely working with its
constituent partners and also assured of the support of minority
parties.

SB abandons UNP campaign
COLOMBO: UNP National Organiser S.B.Dissanayake who
pledged to campaign for the party to give a 'new life' to the crisis
ridden UNP which is hardly a week away from the local government polls
has abandoned the campaign and left for Australia with his wife Tamara
to see his children, UNP sources disclosed.

Order reserved in polls petition
COLOMBO: The Court of Appeal yesterday reserved
order in the election petition seeking to accept the nomination paper of
the United National Party for the Seethawakapura Pradeshiya Sabha at the
Local Government election for March 29.
