March 13, 2006 titled "Massive Multipurpose Project for Kalu Ganga
on the disclosure by President Mahinda Rajapakse at the foundation
laying ceremony of the Administration Office Complex at Hambantota
prompted me to invite the readers' attention to this gigantic
proposal for water resources development in the current perspective.

ARCHITECT Tilak Samarawickrema made a visual
presentation on National Identity or Universality in Design at the
German Cultural Centre on March 21. It was organised by the Goethe
Institute, Colombo together with the International Centre for Ethnic
Studies and was followed by a lively discussion on the subject of
Universality in Design.
