Skywards silver card members offered E-Gate card

COLOMBO: Skywards, the frequent flyer programme of Emirates and SriLankan Airlines, is now offering its Silver Card members the opportunity to convert their cards into a multi-application card for speedy exit and entry through Dubai International Airport.

Skywards Silver Card members resident in the UAE or in countries listed as visa-waivered, can obtain the card, which is combined with Dubai Immigration's e-Gate Card, in exchange for just 5,000 Skywards Miles.

The e-Gate Card, issued by the Dubai Naturalisation & Residency Department (DNRD), usually costs Dhs150 (US$40) and is part of Dubai International Airport's fully automated immigration control facility, which provides a fast-track immigration clearance using smart technology and biometric scans.

Skywards Silver Card members can apply for their multi-application card by logging onto www.skywards.com. `Skywards Gold Card members have already been issued with the multi-application card. When they receive their new card, Skywards members can activate the e-gate component of their membership card by visiting Dubai Immigration's offices located at Dubai International Airport Departure area or the Dnata Travel Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road.
