The 1st Test Match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka for the Kit Calling Card Trophy 2006 ended in a draw at SSC grounds yesterday. Here the Pakistan’s centurion Shoaib Malik who scored 148 receiving the Pepsi Pakistan Special Award for the maximum boundaries from Arif Ali Khan and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara receiving the Man of the Match Award for his century (185 runs) from Iqbal Muniv.

Sanath bows out of Test cricket

SRI LANKA'S Master Blaster Sanath Jayasuriya has announced his retirement from Test cricket. Veteran Jayasuriya who will be 37 on June 30 will be playing his farewell Test match at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy where Sri Lanka meet Pakistan in the second Test starting on Monday.

FRANCE beat Sri Lanka by 31 points (3 goals, 2 tries) to 5 (one try) yesterday at the Hong Kong Sevens 2006 Interactional Rugby encounter. Sajith Mallikarachchi scored the only try for Sri Lanka.

Lanka without coach Moody for Asgiriya Test

SRI LANKA may be without their coach Tom Moody for the entire second cricket Test against Pakistan starting at the Asgiriya International Stadium in Kandy on Monday. SLC sources said that Moody left yesterday for England to attend the funeral of his father-in-law who had died suddenly.
