Tea production UP
PRODUCTION: The Sri Lanka Tea Board said the total tea production in
February amounted to 22,932,598 kg as against 21,971,703 kg, produced
during the corresponding month last year. This shows an increase of
960,895 kg or 4.4%.

Japanese investor delegation here today
DELEGATION: A Japanese investor delegation will visit Sri Lanka from
April 03 - 05. This visit is organised by the United Nations Industrial
Development Organisation (UNIDO), Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(JCCI) and Japanese Embassy in Colombo.
They will meet Ceylon Chamber of Commerce members on April 04, at
2.00 p.m. at the CCC. This is followed by One-to-One Meetings from 3.00
p.m. onwards.
SLT Citylink resumes operation
TELECOMMUNICATION: Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) resumed its CDMA service.
The company sought legal redress against the Telecommunication
Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) directive regarding the
telephone installation charges using CDMA technology.
The Appeal Court last week issued an Order staying the TRCSL's
directive.
SLT accordingly has resumed provisioning of SLT Citylink CDMA
services under the established terms and conditions, a release by SLT
said. |
