US$ 10m loan from Lanka to Pakistan
SRI LANKA has agreed to provide loan facilities
of US$ 10 million to Pakistan for strengthening trade relations
between the two countries. It was also agreed to make this loan
facility available to the Pakistani business community to purchase
Sri Lankan products.

Electoral reforms within six months
THE Government has decided to bring in reforms
to the electoral system within the next six months. The reforms
seeking a hybrid between the first-past-the-post and the
proportional representation systems will be presented in Parliament
after consultations with all political parties.
