'Nathamum Narthanamum' enchanting music and dances

Music and dance: A concert of enchanting instrumental music and
enthralling dances titled 'Nathamum Narthanamum' was held with the
participation of several leading musicians from India at the New
Kathiresan Hall, Colombo recently. India's leading Electric Veena player
Rajhesh Vaidhya performed with eight other musicians from India.
Apart from his blistering speed, Vaidhya's veena playing is
distinguished by his use of electric or amplified strings. The other
Indian musicians were: electric guitar by A.R. Ananda, Key Board -
Navneeth, Mridangam - Karukuruchi N. Mohanaraman, Tabla by Chandrajith,
Electronic drums - G.R. Ganesh, Guatam FX, Vocal - Subramanian, Bharatam
- Ashwini Arun and Archana Ganeshan. Sri Lankan leading dance troupe
Channa-Upuli also performed at the concert.
The musical concert was organised by the Dehiwela North Lions Club,
in aid of the programmes on prevention of Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS of Sri
Lanka Anti Narcotics Association (SLANA) and the Lions Clubs
International District 306 A2. Chief guest was District Governor Lion
Rohantha de Fonseka accompanied by Lion Yamuna.
Guest of Honour was People's Leasing Company CEO D. Kumarage. The
Chief Co-ordinator was Lion S. Ramachandra MJF. |
