New Chairman of Colombo Stock Exchange

APPOINTMENT: Nihal Fonseka was elected as the new Chairman of the CSE. He succeeds Eraj Wijesinghe.

Fonseka is a career banker. After 23 years with HSBC in various positions, he took over as the Chief Executive Officer of DFCC Bank, in January 2000.

He holds a BSc from the University of Ceylon, Colombo and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK.

He is a Director of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon Ltd, the Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka and has been a Director of the Colombo Stock Exchange since 2002.
