A national child helpline for Sri Lanka
The year 2006 has been declared as the National
Year of the Child by the President in February, 2006. A child
helpline will certainly be a significant development in serving
children at risk in the year of the children in Sri Lanka.

Tuesday's murderous terror bombing in Mumbai was
a tragedy foretold. A least half-a-dozen Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat
ul-Jihad Islami cells planning major operations in western India had
been interdicted since January: one, sooner or later, was certain to
