Port go-slow settled
Action taken to restore normal operations :
The 10-day go slow campaign by Colombo Port
workers ended yesterday following extensive discussions between
authorities and trade unions. The unions decided to call off the
`go-slow' following an assurance by Ports and Aviation Minister
Mangala Samaraweera that the salary issue of the SLPA workers would
be solved within three months.

Lanka HC probes desecration at Bodh Gaya

Romesh Jayasinghe, rushed to Bodh Gaya yesterday, following the
alleged desecration of the sacred Bodhi tree in the premises of the
Maha Bodhi Temple, the place where the Buddha secured Enlightenment
2550 years ago.

Swedish envoy meets LTTE leaders
Swedish special envoy Anders Oljelund met LTTE's
political wing leader S.P. Thamilselvan in Kilinochchi yesterday.
Oljelund had discussions with Tamilselvan over the issue of three
members from Denmark, Finland and Sweden, the European Union
countries, represented in the SLMM
