European rubber buyers to meet local manufacturers

RUBBER: The Sri Lanka Export Development Board together with the Ministry of Plantation Industries with the assistance of overseas embassies in selected countries will organise buyers of rubber products to visit Sri Lanka to meet manufacturers of rubber products here.

An official of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board said that this programme will initially concentrate on selected European countries and may expand to other regions.

The programme is scheduled to commence in October this year.

Up to now several exporters and manufacturers of rubber based products submitted their applications to the Export Development Board.

Short listed applicants will be called for an interview where they will be required to present to the selection committee, a representative collection of samples and promotional literature. The selected companies will be given an opportunity of meeting suitable buyers in keeping with the products.
